Plans, usage and limits
What happens when you reach a plan limit, how to see usage, and how overage works.
Each organization is on one plan. The plan sets limits — projects, database size, storage, bandwidth, function invocations, realtime connections — and which features are available. Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.
When you reach a limit
| Error code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
PLAN_LIMIT_REACHED | A quantity limit was reached (for example projects or monthly invocations). | Upgrade, enable overage for that service, or wait for the monthly reset. |
PLAN_FEATURE_UNAVAILABLE | The feature isn't included in your plan. | Upgrade to a plan that includes it. |
Both come back as HTTP 403 with a JSON body that names the limit. The console shows the same message with an upgrade option. Existing data is never deleted because of a limit.
Warnings before you hit a limit
Owners and admins get an in-app notification and an email at 80% and 100% of each monthly quota. When a service is paused at its limit, the email explains how to restore it.
Overage
On paid plans you can turn on overage per service in Organization → Billing. Usage past the included amount keeps working and is billed with your next renewal at the rates on the pricing page.
See your usage
- Organization → Usage shows each metric for the current period, per project.
sov billing usageprints the same from the CLI.
Billing emails
Invoices, payment receipts, failed payments, renewal reminders (3 days before), cancellations and automatic moves to the Free plan are emailed to the organization's owners and its billing contact.
